Philadelphia is notorious for their cheesesteaks. South Philadelphia produces the best cheesesteaks in my opinion. Geno’s and Pat’s are the most famous cheesesteak places in Philadelphia and they’re right across the street from one another. They’re both open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a Philadelphian, I’m loyal to Geno’s. I’ve never had a Pat’s cheesesteak. As a bypasser, one would notice Geno’s from a couple blocks away- it’s that vibrant. I love the orange outside walls with the colorful fluorescent lights which are surrounding the top of the building. Their menu is basic: cheese (Wiz, American or Provolone), Onions and any other condiments your heart desires. Their cheese fries are to die for. They put a fork in the cheese fries which makes the experience less messy. Geno’s Steaks has been a classic since 1966. If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop at Geno’s!
