Green Eggs Cafe

I just went to Green Eggs Cafe on 719 N 2nd Street for breakfast this morning and it was absolutely amazing. I loved the cute  restaurant name, cozy atmosphere, the large portions and the wonderful service. I was out last night with my friends and we ended up talking about breakfast places, and Green Eggs Cafe came up in conversation. I knew that I needed to have Saturday breakfast at Green Eggs Cafe. My friend and I arrived at about 10:30am and there was a little bit of a wait outside. There were about 4 open tables outside, but it was a little chilly, so we decided to wait for a table inside. The tables had two couples or friends sitting at the them. It was very intimate and somewhat uncomfortable. We sat next to two men and they said that they wanted to “share our food while they waited for their food.” It was strange and creepy. They told us about how Green Eggs Cafe has amazing pancakes. After I heard about their amazing pancakes, even though I wasn’t in the mood for pancakes, I ordered them anyway. My friend ordered Chicken & Waffles Benedict. And, then, we both ordered Biscuits. There was a little bit of a wait for our food to come out.
photo 4-68 I ordered the Red Velvet pancakes. Little did I know that they were going to be huge! There were 3-4 pancakes topped with whipped cream and strawberries and there was whipped cream under each pancake and on the bottom layer there was chocolate. Talk about amazing.

As I said previously, my friend ordered the Chicken and Waffles Benedict. The waffles and home fries were amazing, but the chicken tasted a little funny. We decided to share the Red Velvet pancakes and the chicken and waffles. The biscuits were also amazing. Buttery and delicious.

The worst part about Green Eggs Cafe is that they only accept cash. We didn’t know that, so when we received our check, they made us go to the ATM.    There was also a line for the ATM. I would suggest accepting credit cards ASAP.
Overall, I had a very good experience. I really liked the food, atmosphere and our waitress. Hopefully Green Eggs Cafe will be accepting credit cards and expand their restaurant a little more. If you’re ever in Philadelphia, you need to stop by Green Eggs Cafe!
